Sgt. Davis is a 10 year veteran of the United States Army who served in a Stryker unit at Ft. Hood.  Davis served as Combat Engineer responsible for clearing mines during his two tours in Iraq.  In Davis’ second tour, a car bomb exploded near his vehicle causing injuries to his face, eyesight and both his legs.  Davis received a Purple Heart for his injuries. Sgt. Davis plans on using the GI bill to attend school and will commute using a van outfitted with hand controls.  The North Carolina Heroes’ Fund is proud to award Sgt. Davis’ family a financial hardship grant to alleviate their financial burdens caused by injuries overseas.
