Rosemary, a retired business banker, is happily engaged in her third career a personal trainer at the Harris YMCA in Charlotte NC. Her interest is in training the “Ageless Athlete” with an emphasis on Functional Aging. Prior to becoming certified with the American Council on Exercise as a Personal Trainer she was a business banker. Her first career, also in the fitness industry took on many forms as she moved from post to post as an Army wife. She trained hundreds of water safety and life guard instructors, taught and managed learn to swim programs, CPR and first aid classes as an American Red Cross Instructor Trainer. She taught in fitness centers, elementary and secondary schools and coached age group swimmers (USS) as well as high school swim teams.
In 1996 she set out on a banking career, as a part time teller. Over the years she was fortunate enough to be sent to several banking schools, eventually becoming a commercial lender. During that time she volunteered with neighborhood advisory councils, Dress for Success Charlotte, United Way and several YMCA organizations all over North Carolina.
Rosemary’s passion for our country’s military developed over her twenty years as an Army wife married to the late Richard (Dick) Harrington. Her understanding of the unique and often misunderstood struggles of the military family brought her to the NC Heroes’ Fund in 2008.
Rosemary enjoys all types of physical exercise. She spends as much time as possible with her daughter Pamela, her two sons and their wives, Patrick and Meghan and Brendan and Katie and her three grandchildren.
