North Carolina Heroes’ Fund, Inc.

The North Carolina Heroes’ Fund is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to supporting the men and women of our state who support us. While the fund could be used to support our local heroes – such as fire fighters and police officers – it is primarily intended to support the men and women of the United States Armed Forces who have served our country in harm’s way in the execution of overseas military missions. The Fund will focus on men and women or their families who are currently serving or have recently served in the military and are currently enduring hardships.

The fund was established to provide support to military men and women from North Carolina or stationed at one of North Carolina’s many military bases. This support is primarily centered on hardships which these men and women, or their families, may have endured due to their service overseas. Support can come through direct payments to these individuals to assist them with financial burdens. Support may also come in the form of coordination of volunteer efforts. Family members and dependents can also benefit from cash payments or scholarships.

Academic scholarships will be available, as resources allow, to dependents of North Carolina’s fighting men and women, particular children whose parents were killed in action defending our nation in hostile locations.

Applications for grants and scholarships will be available on-line. The Fund will also seek nominations from the senior officers and non-commissioned officers (NCOs)  members of North Carolina’s military commands.
