Veterans comprise approximately 30 percent of all mesothelioma diagnoses due to asbestos-contaminated products that were used by the military, primarily by the Navy, from the 1930s through the 1970s. Pleural mesothelioma can be treated in a variety of ways. Unfortunately, asbestos-related diseases are not always recognized by the VA, which is why we’ve dedicated a portion of our website with information that can assist those affected by asbestos-related diseases in order to help them file for VA benefits.
