About NC Heroes Fund

The North Carolina Heroes’ Fund was created in January 2007 with the mission of aiding the men and women specifically from North Carolina or those serving at one of North Carolina’s many military installations. The vision of the Fund began with it’s founder, Scott Stone, and his drive to help those that are defending our freedom. It was devastatingly clear to Stone that many of our men and women were returning from active duty and facing very difficult transitions as well as financial hardships.

The support is primarily centered on hardships in which these men and women, or their families, may be enduring as a direct result to their service overseas. In addition to financial hardship assistance the Fund has established an educational grant process to assist the dependents of our military men and women with the cost of continued education.

North Carolina's Injured Military Personnel

E-mail
army2Simply facing the challenge of returning home from deployment and the transition of reuniting with loved ones can seem overwhelming; imagine returning home with a life altering injury. The injury alone is not the only issue, extended recovery and rehabilitation can take a toll on most families.

The request for assistance from North Carolina’s injured and rehabilitating military personnel are the Fund’s most frequent request. Travel time associated with extended rehabilitation and/or the necessary upfitting of a home or vehicle are common financial stressors on a military family. The primary caregiver often struggles to maintain the family’s expenses and thus a hardship begins.
